American Hospital Dubai is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a registered professional nurse, you will provide direct, high-acuity patient care and coordinate all care-related activities for critically ill patients. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous critical care assessments of patients' physical and psychological needs.
• Manage complex nursing activities, including hemodynamic monitoring, care of patients on mechanical ventilation, and neurological monitoring.
• Assist physicians with advanced procedures, including insertion of central/arterial lines, chest tubes, and bronchoscopies.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement, and revise patient care plans based on individual needs.
• Safely handle and administer medications, including narcotics and controlled drugs, according to hospital policy.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with hospital and Joint Commission International (JCI) standards.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency through ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing (minimum 3-year full-time course duration).
• A minimum of two (2) years of recent post-graduate experience in a critical care (ICU) nursing setting.
• Must hold a valid license/registration to practice nursing in your home country and/or country of last employment.
• A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be achieved within 6 months of employment.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization in a high-acuity environment.
