Consultant – Laparoscopic/Gastrointestinal Surgeon (Hospital-Based, Dubai)

📋 Full Job Description:

🔍 Position Overview:

• Full-time Consultant position in the General & Minimally Invasive Surgery Department
• Specializing in Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures

🩺 Key Responsibilities:

• Perform elective and emergency laparoscopic surgeries, such as:
  • Cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, colorectal surgeries, gastric procedures
• Assess and manage patients with gastrointestinal, biliary, abdominal, and soft tissue conditions
• Guide patients through pre-op education and post-op rehabilitation plans
• Participate in on-call surgical rotations and assist in complex general surgery cases
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, and nursing units
• Maintain DHA-compliant documentation and participate in morbidity/mortality audits
• Mentor junior surgical staff and contribute to hospital-based CME and surgical workshops

🎓 Requirements:

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Board Certification in General Surgery with Fellowship or training in Laparoscopic/MIS Surgery
• Minimum 3 years post-certification experience as a Laparoscopic Surgeon
• Western-trained: UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, or New Zealand
• Eligible for or holding Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license
• Skilled in standard, advanced, and multi-port laparoscopic access
• Strong decision-making, precision, and case management skills
