Are you a psychologist who wants to make a real difference in the lives of Veterans? The VA Central Iowa Health Care System is looking for a Staff Psychologist to join the Carroll CBOC as part of the Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) Team. You'll specialize in delivering evidence-based treatments for PTSD, helping Veterans work through trauma and reclaim their lives. This role comes with a significant perk: eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program, which can provide up to $200,000 in student loan repayment. It's a meaningful position where your clinical skills will have a direct, lasting impact.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to Veterans diagnosed with PTSD.
- Manage referrals and Mental Health Consults for PTSD treatment in a timely manner.
- Obtain VA recognition in at least two evidence-based PTSD therapies, such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
- Serve as a consultant on PTSD issues for staff across the VA Central Iowa Health Care System.
- Complete all clinical documentation within 48 hours and close encounters within 7 days.
- Meet monthly and yearly productivity targets collaboratively set with your supervisors.
What you'll need to have:
- A doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program.
- Completion of an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship.
- A full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state or territory. (Non-licensed applicants may be considered for a temporary appointment under supervision.)
- U.S. Citizenship and proficiency in written and spoken English.
- For GS-12: At least 1 year of experience as a professional psychologist at the GS-11 level.
- For GS-13: At least 2 years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least 1 year at the GS-12 level.

Annual Salary Range
$73,939 - $137,000
GS-11 to GS-13 Pay Scale
