Description
The Orlando VA Healthcare System is looking for an experienced Psychiatrist to join their Mental Health Service team. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Conducting initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, consultations, and medication management for Veterans.
- Providing group therapy, crisis assessment, and intervention services.
- Identifying mental and related medical health needs, then designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to address them.
- Serving as the medical subject matter expert on your team, coordinating care activities and resolving issues affecting Veteran care.
- Providing education to Veterans and their families about their conditions and care management.
- Offering team-based leadership to improve clinical outcomes at the service level.
- Participating in teaching programs and research, fostering an environment that supports education and training.
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
- Completed psychiatry residency training approved by ACGME or AOA leading to board eligibility.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; adaptable team player.
Preferred Experience:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Addiction Medicine.
Job Details
Location: Orlando, Florida
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Various shifts may be required based on facility needs.
Travel: 25% or less may be expected.
Salary Range:
$225,000 - $300,000 per year
