Description

Ready to make a real difference in Veterans' lives while enjoying small-town charm? The VA is looking for a Primary Care Physician to join our team in Caldwell, Idaho. You'll work as part of our Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, providing comprehensive outpatient care to those who've served our country. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Performing initial histories and physical examinations for outpatients, then providing ongoing care for your assigned patient panel
  • Prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic studies like labs, x-rays, and EKGs, and coordinating specialist consultations
  • Educating patients and families on preventive care, medical conditions, and proper use of treatments
  • Collaborating with an expanded healthcare team that includes social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, and behavioral health clinicians
  • Working with a fully computerized medical record system while participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinating patient transfers to the nearest VA facility when inpatient admission is needed

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
  • Completed residency training approved by ACGME, AOA, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Preferred: 5 years of primary care experience and ABIM or ABFM board certification

Schedule: Full-time, Compressed (4 x 10-hour days)

Salary Range

$238,000 - $281,000 per year

Base Pay + Market Pay determined through formal pay-setting process
