The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Aurora is seeking a board-certified Radiologist to serve as the Chief of Imaging Service. This is a leadership role where you'll oversee all medical imaging operations, directly supervise physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, and continue to practice clinical radiology. You'll be responsible for strategic planning, budget development, resource management, and ensuring the service meets all VHA and Joint Commission standards. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Leadership: Directly supervise physicians, nurses, administrative leadership, and supervisory technologists. Collaborate with other Service Chiefs and the Chief of Staff's Office to meet stakeholder needs.
- Strategic Planning: Work with the Chief of Staff's Office to develop and execute a strategic plan and annual budget for the Imaging Service.
- Resource Management: Evaluate and manage facility space, equipment, supplies, and staffing. Oversee new equipment and facility space requests.
- Human Resources: Manage hiring, performance appraisals, compensation, discipline, and promotions within the Imaging Service.
- Clinical Duties: Provide high-quality, timely interpretation of imaging studies to assist referring physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
- Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert on imaging examinations and procedures. Review imaging orders, determine appropriate modalities, and make treatment recommendations.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement activities and educate imaging staff on new processes, techniques, and procedures.
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited) and proficiency in written and spoken English.
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved school.
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
- Completed residency training in Radiology, approved by the ACGME or AOA.
- Required: American Board of Radiology Certification.
- Preferred: 3 years of imaging leadership experience.
- Preferred: Specialization and fellowship training in Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, MSK, or Mammography.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as an Imaging Service Chief or Department Director.

Annual Salary Range
$350,000 - $400,000
Base Pay + Market Pay (VM-15 Pay Scale)
