Description

The Muskogee Oklahoma VA is recruiting an Anesthesiologist to join the team at the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa. You'll provide comprehensive anesthesia care to Veterans, including general, regional, spinal, epidural, and monitored anesthesia care. This role also involves supervising CRNAs, mentoring residents, and helping optimize perioperative flow for maximum operating room efficiency. A sign-on bonus is available, and the position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Providing anesthesia care meeting all community standards, including general endotracheal, laryngeal mask, regional, spinal, epidural, and monitored anesthesia care.
  • Conducting history and physical exams, pre-anesthesia fitness evaluations, and documenting anesthesia plans in the electronic medical record.
  • Placing central venous and arterial lines.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and supervision of CRNAs under your direction.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and teaching physicians, CRNAs, and residents in advanced airway management, including fiberoptic assistance.
  • Managing non-emergent and emergent airways, including mechanical ventilation per VHA directives.
  • Assisting in coordinating optimal flow through the perioperative process to maximize operating room utilization.

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
  • Completed anesthesiology residency training approved by ACGME or AOA leading to board eligibility.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience:

  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA-approved residency training program in anesthesiology.
  • Demonstrated performance of anesthetic management, documented through residency logs or quality profiles showing clinical activity for the past 12 months.

Job Details

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Salary Range:

$325,000 - $400,000 per year
