Description

We are seeking an experienced physician to take the helm as the Section Chief of Neurology at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center. This is a pivotal role within the Medicine Service Line where you will balance clinical expertise with administrative leadership. In this position, you will spend approximately 80% of your time providing direct patient care and 20% managing the operations of the neurology section.

You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our veterans while mentoring staff and maintaining compliance with accrediting standards. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Neurology Section, including managing staff schedules and ensuring call coverage.
  • Provide expert neurologic consultation and treatment for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Lead the team by holding monthly section meetings and allocating resources to ensure adequate clinical program availability.
  • Diagnose and treat complex cases using pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and procedure-based therapies.
  • Direct quality improvement processes and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and VHA guidelines.

What you'll need to have:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any US State or territory.
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program in Neurology.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology.
  • US Citizenship (non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens are not available).

Job Details

Location:Fayetteville, North Carolina

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)

Salary: $280,000 - $335,000 per year
