Description
The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is looking for a full-time Pulmonary Physician to join their Specialty Care Service at the Jacksonville Outpatient Clinic. This is a permanent position where you'll provide outpatient pulmonary care to Veterans, managing conditions from COPD and asthma to lung cancer and pulmonary hypertension. You'll also perform bronchoscopies and interpret pulmonary function tests. It's a chance to serve those who've served, with excellent federal benefits and up to $200,000 in student loan repayment assistance through the Education Debt Reduction Program.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Providing outpatient pulmonary services and managing a range of pulmonary diseases including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis, lung cancer, and pulmonary hypertension
- Interpreting pulmonary function tests and oximetry results
- Overseeing and managing the home oxygen program for Veterans
- Performing bronchoscopy and other invasive pulmonary procedures
- Working collaboratively with the Specialty Care Service team to deliver quality patient care
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or territory
- Completed residency training in Pulmonary Medicine approved by ACGME or AOA, leading to board certification eligibility
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Salary Range
$200,000 - $400,000 per year
Final salary determined by education and length of practice
