Description
The C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center's Mental Health Service is looking for an experienced Psychiatrist to join our growing team. You'll work with a diverse Veteran population, including geriatric patients and post-deployment combat Veterans, providing comprehensive psychiatric care both in-person and via telehealth. This role offers the chance to contribute to an academic hospital program while making a real difference in the lives of those who served. We're offering a sign-on bonus, and this position is eligible for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the EDRP program.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Performing psychiatric evaluations for a diverse population, including geriatric and post-deployment combat Veterans
- Providing a full range of therapeutic interventions: diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, and crisis intervention
- Conducting patient care through face-to-face and telehealth mediums
- Serving as a mental health team leader, coordinating consults and triaging specialty clinic referrals
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members in treatment planning conferences
- Participating in supervision and teaching for the psychiatric residency program and medical students
- Serving on work groups or committees related to system redesign, performance measures, and safety
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
- Completed residency training approved by ACGME or AOA, leading to board eligibility
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Preferred: Board Certification in Psychiatry

Location: Bay Pines, FL
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
Salary Range:
$290,000 - $315,000 per year
Plus annual performance bonus and sign-on bonus
