The VA Palo Alto Health Care System is seeking a compassionate Psychiatrist to join their team, specifically focusing on Addiction Consultation and Pain Management. You will operate across outpatient mental health clinics, substance use disorder treatment programs, and the pain management clinic to address complex clinical needs.

Here's what you'll be doing:
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments for patients in outpatient mental health, substance use, and pain management settings.
- Create and implement comprehensive treatment plans that include both behavioral and pharmacological interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to provide specialty consultative knowledge and support to other services.
- Supervise and mentor trainees, including medical students and residents, ensuring high-quality clinical education.
- Contribute to administrative tasks such as policy development, committee participation, and ensuring compliance with VHA standards.
What you'll need to have:
- A Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved institution.
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any US State or territory.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program in Psychiatry.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry is required.
- United States Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens are not available).

Salary: $301,714 - $320,972 per year
