The Alexandria VA Medical Center is seeking Primary Care Physicians to serve Veterans at our Fort Polk and Lafayette locations in Louisiana. You'll provide comprehensive outpatient care to 12-20 patients daily in a supportive team environment. This position offers competitive compensation between $230,000 and $260,000, plus eligibility for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Providing comprehensive outpatient care to approximately 12-20 Veterans daily, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management
- Managing all facets of acute patient care and responding to consultations from other services when requested
- Documenting patient care electronically and maintaining accurate medical records
- Participating in quality management reviews and the peer review process
- Working toward achievement of applicable performance measures and monitoring your areas of responsibility
What you'll need to have:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved school
- Completed residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine approved by ACGME or AOA
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
- Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or appropriate specialty board preferred
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and computer literacy
- U.S. citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)

Salary Range
$230,000 - $260,000 per year
Base Pay + Market Pay determined by education and experience
Plus up to $200,000 in student loan repayment
