Description
The North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System is looking for an experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeon to join the Surgical Care Service team. This is a fantastic opportunity if you're passionate about delivering quality care to Veterans while contributing to the growth of an academic hospital program. You'll work alongside a collaborative team at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, supervising residents and fellows while handling a diverse surgical caseload. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Performing general plastic and hand surgery, including face and hand trauma, elective hand surgery, skin cancer treatment, breast reconstruction, and local flaps
- Admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, and performing surgical procedures for patients with congenital and acquired defects
- Conducting clinic appointments: consults, minor procedures, return visits, and post-op care
- Applying reconstructive, cosmetic, and corrective medical treatments while explaining risks and procedures to patients
- Supervising plastic surgery residents, fellows, general surgery residents, medical students, nursing staff, and ARNPs on site
- Ensuring surgical equipment is properly sterilized and maintaining patient confidentiality per federal guidelines
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
- Completed residency training in Plastic Surgery approved by ACGME or AOA
- Board certification in Plastic Surgery
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Hand Surgery Fellowship completion preferred

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Salary Range:
$279,519 - $400,000 per year
Education and length of practice considered through formal pay-setting process
