The Mental Health Service at the Orlando VA Healthcare System is looking for a dynamic and experienced Psychiatrist to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a VA academic hospital program while providing high-quality care to our nation's veterans. We are looking for a team player who is adaptable and ready to work in a supportive, expanding medical center environment.
You will primarily work in an outpatient setting, managing a diverse range of mental health needs through both face-to-face interactions and telemental health services. This position offers not only professional fulfillment but also exceptional financial benefits, including eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) which can reimburse up to $200,000 in student loans.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, and provide medication management.
- Treat a full spectrum of diagnoses using face-to-face interventions and telemental health (TMH).
- Design and implement diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet the specific mental and medical needs of veterans.
- Serve as the medical subject matter expert for your assigned team and coordinate care with other health service personnel.
- Educate veterans and their families regarding their care, condition, and management strategies.
What you'll need to have:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any US State or territory.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program in Psychiatry.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
- US Citizenship (non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens are not available).

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year
