The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) is seeking a dynamic Physician leader to serve as the Section Chief for our Mental Health Primary Care Section. Located in Tucson, this role offers a unique blend of administrative leadership, clinical practice, and academic teaching. You will lead an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing integrated primary care to Veterans with serious mental illness and homelessness. As a tertiary care facility and a principal teaching affiliate of the University of Arizona, this position also offers the opportunity for a faculty appointment to supervise and educate residents and medical students.

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Serve as Section Chief, Clinic Director, and Primary Care Physician for the Mental Health Primary Care section.
• Provide direct supervision and administrative oversight for 7 interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Manage four Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) specifically focused on Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and Homelessness (H-PACT).
• Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse Veteran population within a co-located, integrated setting.
• teach and supervise medical residents and students through our academic affiliation with the University of Arizona.

What you'll need to have:

• United States Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are not available).
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any US State or territory.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency training program.
• Preferred: Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and experience as a physician leader.
