Description
The Miami VA Healthcare System is looking for an experienced Anesthesiologist to join our team on a part-time or intermittent basis. This is a great opportunity for a physician who wants flexibility while still contributing to a VA academic hospital program. You'll provide comprehensive anesthesia care, manage acute and chronic pain, and supervise medical students and residents. This position is eligible for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the EDRP program.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Performing pre and post-op consultations, general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and neuraxial anesthesia care
- Managing acute pain including caudal, brachial epidural, and intrathecal injections
- Placing arterial lines, central venous cannulation, and pulmonary artery catheterization
- Performing advanced airway management including endotracheal intubation, emergency cricothyrotomy, retrograde intubation, and fiberoptic laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy
- Providing chronic pain management including local infiltration nerve blocks, diagnostic/therapeutic nerve blocks, and neurolytic nerve blocks
- Administering moderate sedation and providing consultative services
- Supervising medical students and physician residents (including fellows)
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
- Completed residency training approved by ACGME or AOA, leading to board eligibility
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology
- Proficiency in written and spoken English

Salary Range:
$297,057 - $400,000 per year
Plus annual performance bonus
