Description

The Orlando VA Healthcare System is looking for an experienced Pain Management Anesthesiologist to join our Anesthesia and Physical Medicine Service. You will practice at an academic VA medical center, deliver advanced interventional and medical pain care, and help train the next generation of clinicians. If you enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team, want predictable weekday hours, and are interested in loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), this role offers a strong mix of clinical challenge and long term stability.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Provide anesthesia care and perioperative pain management for open and endoscopic surgical procedures and selected medical and dental interventions.
  • Deliver acute and chronic pain management, including regional, neuraxial, and interventional techniques such as epidural, spinal, and peripheral nerve blocks.
  • Perform advanced procedures including arterial line placement, central venous cannulation, pulmonary artery catheterization, endotracheal intubation, and emergency airway interventions.
  • Lead or participate in multidisciplinary pain teams, provide consultative services, develop rehabilitative treatment plans, and coordinate care with other specialties.
  • Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and or fellows in anesthesia and pain management within an academic VA environment.

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. citizenship preferred; non citizens may be considered when qualified citizens are not available, in line with VA policy.
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school and completion of an ACGME or AOA approved residency in anesthesiology, plus appropriate pain management training.
  • Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Board certification in Pain Management Anesthesiology and proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to meet VA physical requirements, pass pre employment screening, and work effectively in a fast paced, team oriented hospital setting while teaching learners at different levels.
