Description
The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Surgeon to join our team as a Physician in Otolaryngology. In this role, you will not only provide direct surgical care to our nation's veterans but also take on the responsibilities of a Section Chief. This includes the administrative management of the surgical subspecialty, where you will assess resource needs, implement policies, and oversee fiscal reporting.
You will handle a full range of adult otolaryngology surgeries, including procedures for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, cochlear implants, and issues related to the pharynx, adenoids, and tonsils. Beyond clinical practice, you will play a vital role in educating the next generation of surgeons by supervising and instructing residents and medical students. This position offers a balance of leadership, teaching, and hands-on patient care in a city known for its vibrant culture and affordability.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Perform a wide range of surgeries including cochlear implants, tonsillectomies, and procedures for sleep apnea.
- Manage the Otolaryngology section by assessing resources, implementing policies, and handling proficiency reports.
- Supervise and instruct surgical residents and students in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient settings.
- Provide regional specialty support to other VA facilities in South-central Ohio via telemedicine and consultations.
- Conduct post-operative follow-ups and round on admitted patients to ensure optimal recovery.
What you'll need to have:
- United States Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed if no qualified citizens are available).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or territory.
- Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Otolaryngology is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Job Details
Location:Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Salary: $350,000 - $380,000 per year
