Description

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is looking for a skilled Orthopedic Surgeon to join a dynamic team in a city known for its rich culture and family-friendly atmosphere. This role offers a unique blend of clinical practice and academic involvement. You will handle a full range of adult orthopedic care with a specific emphasis on managing degenerative spine disease. Because we support Graduate Medical Education, this position requires you to work closely with residents and students, making it an excellent fit for a surgeon who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of medical professionals while serving our nation's Veterans.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Provide direct surgical care to inpatient and outpatient Veterans, with a focus on degenerative spine disease.
  • Supervise and educate surgical residents and students in the operating room, outpatient clinics, and during bedside procedures.
  • Participate in on-call coverage, requiring a 60-minute in-person response time for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Support regional VA facilities in South-central Ohio through telemedicine consults and referral-based treatments.
  • Engage in administrative tasks and committee memberships while maintaining accurate electronic patient records.

What you'll need to have:

  • United States Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are not available).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any US State or territory.
  • Board eligibility or certification in Orthopedics.
  • Eligibility for a faculty appointment in the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati.
  • Preferred experience: Completion of a Fellowship in Orthopedic Spine Surgery.

Job Details

Location:Cincinnati, Ohio

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Salary Range$330,000 - $390,000 per year
