Description

The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is hiring General Medicine physicians across multiple locations in Washington State. This is your chance to join a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and provide comprehensive primary care to veterans in Olympia, Port Angeles, Puyallup, or Silverdale. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Providing comprehensive primary care to an assigned panel of patients using the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model
  • Prescribing medications and entering consults to specialty clinics through electronic medical records systems
  • Interfacing with non-VA providers, including DoD and community partners, to ensure smooth care transitions
  • Contributing to performance measure targets for access, quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction
  • Completing clinical reminders for chronic disease management and prevention on schedule
  • Completing progress notes, secure messages, and view alerts according to VHA timeliness standards
  • Providing and coordinating clinical Employee Health services in conjunction with Human Resources
  • Supervising allied health professional trainees if site or program duties require it

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved institution
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
  • Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program (ACGME or AOA approved)
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Must meet academic affiliate criteria for supervision of trainees if duties include trainee supervision
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including heavy lifting, walking, standing, and repeated bending

Job Details

Locations: Olympia, WA; Port Angeles, WA; Puyallup, WA; Silverdale, WA (1 vacancy each, plus additional locations)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm (variable tours of duty)

Travel: Not required

Salary Range

$240,000 - $300,000 per year

Base Pay + Market Pay determined through formal pay-setting process
