Description

The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno is looking for a Gastroenterologist to join our Medical Service team. You'll provide comprehensive, high-quality care to Veterans in an inpatient setting, working alongside an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals. This role also involves supervising and educating Internal Medicine Residents and medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Providing medical evaluations and directing overall patient management in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
  • Participating in an effective clinical program with a focus on patient outcome indicators.
  • Supervising and educating Internal Medicine Residents and medical students.
  • Completing assigned peer reviews, health record reviews, and quality assurance standards within required timeframes.
  • Participating in Medical Service educational activities, scheduled meetings, and research activities as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory.
  • Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Job Details

Location: Reno, NV

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Salary Range:

$360,000 - $385,000 per year

Plus annual performance bonus
