Description

The John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock is seeking a full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician to join their specialized EP Unit. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Perform specialized electrophysiology procedures including catheter ablations for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, and ventricular arrhythmias
  • Implant and manage pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices with ongoing patient follow-up
  • Conduct diagnostic EP studies and interpret ECGs, Holter monitors, event recorders, and implantable loop recorders
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for veterans with arrhythmias, collaborating with primary care providers and cardiologists
  • Supervise and teach cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students in an academic setting
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research
  • Provide shared coverage for emergency and inpatient care during off hours
  • Complete all clinical documentation using the VA's electronic health record system in compliance with federal regulations

What you'll need to have:

  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved institution
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
  • Completed residency training approved by ACGME, AOA, or equivalent, with specialized training in cardiac electrophysiology
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Eligibility for academic appointment (preferred); academic rank determined by UAMS based on experience
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination and background investigation

Job Details

Location: Little Rock, AR

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (occasional travel to CBOCs may be required)

Salary Range

$330,000 - $400,000 per year
