Description
The VA Oklahoma City Health Care System is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to join the Imaging Service team. You'll provide comprehensive image interpretation, image-guided procedures, and patient care services for our Veteran population. Beyond clinical duties, you'll contribute to quality assurance, oversee technical quality, educate staff and trainees, and participate in committee work that supports the VA's mission. This position offers a competitive salary up to $400,000, potential sign-on bonus, relocation expense reimbursement, and eligibility for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Interpret imaging exams with relevant comparisons and clinical correlation, generating detailed reports with findings, differential diagnoses, and recommendations
- Review exam requests for appropriateness and prescribe or modify protocols for specific clinical indications
- Provide oversight of technical image quality with feedback to technologists
- Serve as a resource for radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection control practices
- Consult with providers on exam selection, results review, and other imaging support functions
- Interact with patients to obtain clinical history, provide education, obtain informed consent, and document in CPRS
- Participate in clinical conferences such as Tumor Board and quality assurance activities including peer review
- Support academic affiliations by teaching technologists, medical students, and residents
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
- Completed ACGME or AOA-accredited residency training in Diagnostic Radiology
- Board certification eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology (board certification may be required for faculty status)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Job Details
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with on-call rotation
Relocation: Relocation expenses may be reimbursed
Salary
$200,000 - $400,000 per year
Base Pay + Market Pay determined through formal pay-setting process
