Description
The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans is looking for a full-time Academic Dermatologist to join our team. You'll provide comprehensive dermatologic care to our veteran population while supervising residents from Tulane and LSU Schools of Medicine. This is a great opportunity if you're passionate about clinical care, teaching, and research. Plus, you may qualify for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Deliver high-quality dermatologic care in outpatient and inpatient settings, covering general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and cutaneous oncology
- Supervise dermatology residents during most patient care sessions and provide inpatient consults with residents
- Participate in teledermatology consultations through our robust virtual care hub
- Teach and mentor dermatology residents and medical students, lead didactic sessions, journal clubs, and tumor board discussions
- Conduct clinical and translational research in collaboration with the VA Research Center and affiliate institutions
- Travel weekly to surrounding CBOC facilities to staff clinics as needed
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
- Completed ACGME or AOA-accredited residency training in Dermatology
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Dermatology
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Job Details
Location: New Orleans, LA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Salary
$300,000 - $350,000 per year
Base Pay + Market Pay determined through formal pay-setting process
