Description
The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System is looking for a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our Surgical Care team in Omaha. You'll provide anesthesia services across a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, vascular, orthopedics, cardiology, urology, and more. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Providing anesthesia care for complex surgical procedures, from routine cases to specialized interventions
- Performing and documenting preanesthetic evaluations, requesting consultations, and ordering diagnostic studies as needed
- Initiating and managing general, regional, MAC, and local anesthesia techniques
- Handling airway management, including endotracheal intubation, endobronchial tubes, and emergency airway protocols
- Placing central lines, pulmonary artery catheters, and performing peripheral nerve blocks and central neuroaxial blocks
- Managing patient emergence from anesthesia and transition to the post-anesthesia care unit
- Participating on the Code Blue Team for emergency airway management throughout the facility
- Providing anesthesia for electroconvulsive therapy, cardioversions, and ICD checks
What you'll need to have:
- Master's or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia from a COA-accredited program
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as a CRNA in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
- Full certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- U.S. citizenship and proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Salary Range
$169,338 - $265,746 per year
