Description
The Cardiology Section at the VA Boston Healthcare System is looking for a dedicated Advanced Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist to join the team. This is a full-time role where you'll dive deep into advanced imaging studies while also handling clinical general cardiology duties. VABHS acts as the major tertiary referral center for Veterans across New England, meaning you'll handle complex cases in a facility strongly affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Boston University.
This position offers a unique mix of clinical practice, teaching, and research. You will have the opportunity to mentor residents and fellows while securing an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School commensurate with your experience. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Perform advanced cardiac imaging studies including cardiac CT, coronary CT angiography, cardiac MRI, and nuclear cardiac imaging (SPECT and PET).
- Collaborate with the Radiology program to advise on study acquisition and coordinate reports with other skilled Cardiologists.
- Interpret echocardiography studies and participate in both inpatient and outpatient general cardiology services.
- Teach and mentor residents and cardiovascular disease fellows to support the department's academic mission.
- Engage in research activities focused on cardiac imaging or equivalent academic areas to maintain the facility's high research standing.
What you'll need to have:
- A Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved institution.
- A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any US State or territory.
- Completion of an accredited residency training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease is required.
- Subspecialty Certification in Advanced Cardiac Imaging (CBCCT, CBCMR, or CBNC) is highly preferred.

Salary: $280,000 - $330,000 per year
