Ready to lead and make a real difference for aging veterans? The VA Northern California Health Care System is looking for an Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Geriatric and Extended Care. This is your chance to join the executive leadership team and shape how we deliver care to our older veterans across Northern California. You'll oversee GEC operations spanning 13 sites, from Sacramento to Redding, Martinez to Stockton. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Providing leadership and direction for the entire GEC service line, including providers, clinical leaders, administrative managers, and support staff
- Overseeing all Geriatric and Extended Care operations across 13 VANCHCS sites throughout Northern California
- Developing strategic plans, policies, procedures, and organizational structures to fulfill the service line's mission
- Coordinating interdisciplinary service activities with other facility services and clinics to ensure quality patient care
- Working closely with Quality Management and actively participating in systems redesign initiatives to meet Joint Commission requirements
- Supporting staff development programs that upgrade knowledge and skills while preparing future leaders
- Managing personal clinic time as negotiated with the Deputy Chief of Staff
What you'll need to have:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved institution
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
- Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Extensive and progressive leadership experience as both a clinician and administrator
- Exceptional interpersonal, operational, and facilitation skills
- Clinical and administrative experience in Geriatric or Extended Care (preferred)
Job Details
Location: Martinez, CA (with travel to 13 Northern California sites)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Salary Range
$250,000 - $350,000 per year
Base Pay + Market Pay determined through formal pay-setting process
