Description

Provides age-specific, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process. Responsibilities include performing thorough assessments, ongoing monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ensures safe handling of medications, maintains compliance with Joint Commission International (JCI) standards, participates in educational and quality improvement activities, and maintains a safe environment for patients and staff. Assists with operational and supervisory tasks, ensuring quality metrics, audits, patient satisfaction, and smooth clinic operations are achieved. Provides clinical guidance, supports fellow staff, and promotes service excellence in cardiology and catheterization lab care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate patient-centered nursing care using evidence-based practice.
• Perform critical assessments of patients and families, addressing both physical and psychological needs.
• Engage patients, families, and healthcare providers in developing individualized care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes.
• Maintain documentation in line with hospital standards.
• Ensure readiness of supplies, equipment, and emergency protocols.
• Safely administer and document narcotics/controlled drugs.
• Support staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Promote audits, KPI reporting, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Provide clinical supervision and guidance for nursing colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with clinic-specific quality standards, including environmental rounds, CRM closure, stock levels, and KPI dashboards.
• Participate in quality meetings, incident reporting, and continuous education.
• Uphold standards for patient follow-up, safe transfers, and timely communication.

Unit-Specific Responsibilities:

• Assist in management of patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
• Support patients undergoing extracorporeal hemoadsorption (EHAC) therapy.
• Aid in pacemaker insertion and management for rhythm disorders.
• Assist in percutaneous coronary interventions (CTO) for coronary artery disease.
• Support pulmonary artery catheter insertion and removal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3-year course) OR 2-year degree with registration from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
• For UAE Nationals: May be exempted from clinical training if criteria met (birth certificate and mother’s family book required).
• Non-UAE nationals graduating from UAE universities: Must complete 6 months APS clinical training (except RN/Assistant Nurse titles).
• Hold valid nursing license/registration to practice in home country and/or last employment country.
• Must possess at least Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 3–5 years of recent post-graduate experience in cardiology nursing or heart center.
• Previous Team Leader or Senior Registered Nurse experience preferred.
• Skills in assessing patient/family needs, coordinating care, and prioritizing effectively.
