Physician Intern – University Hospital Sharjah (UAE)

🩺 Position Summary

• Provide quality, ethical medical care aligned with hospital and international standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans under supervision.
• Ensure professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with safety procedures.
• Participate in UHS's international accreditation programs and continuous quality improvement.

📌 Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess patient medical needs under supervision.
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and legible documentation following hospital policy.
• Participate in patient handovers and staff briefings.
• Adhere to patient safety policies and quality standards.
• Comply with all UHS and international accreditation procedures.
• Always arrive on time and maintain professional conduct and appearance.
• Identify and report any physical or emotional distress (fatigue, burnout, etc.) in oneself or others.
• Respect patients’ rights, confidentiality, and hospital regulations.
• Submit accurate records of work hours, learning progress, and patient care experiences.

🎓 Requirements / Qualifications

Required

• Must be a graduate from the College of Medicine – University of Sharjah.
• Must have a valid SHA Private License (Sharjah Health Authority).
• 50% of positions will be reserved for UAE Nationals. Remainders may be allocated to expats based on availability.

Preferred / Skills

• Fluent in English (written & spoken); Arabic fluency is a plus.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiar with evidence-based practices and medical ethics.
• Understanding of confidentiality, patient safety, and data management.
