Health Care Assistant – Female Ward | University Hospital Sharjah

🩺 Position Summary:

• Support registered nurses by performing basic, non-licensed patient care tasks.
• Ensure the comfort, hygiene, safety, and mobility of female patients.
• Help maintain international standards of care in line with MOH, JCI, and FDON guidelines.

📌 Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist RNs with daily care: turning, positioning, transporting patients.
• Make and assist with both occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Provide feeding support to patients and record fluid intake.
• Act as a chaperone for patients during physician visits or procedures.
• Support safe specimen transportation and basic post-procedure cleaning.
• Assist and accompany patients for diagnostic procedures (X-rays, ECG, CT scans).
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in patient rooms and report safety concerns.
• Perform patient weight measurements and assist with basic mobility tasks.
• Maintain equipment and instrument hygiene according to standard protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement, trainings, and staff meetings.
• Document and escalate incidents per policy, ensuring timely reporting.
• Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Support emergency and safety protocols (e.g., fire safety, rapid response).
• Attend mandatory annual training sessions and educational updates.
• Perform job duties as assigned within scope of practice.

🎓 Position Requirements / Qualifications:

✅ Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing, healthcare assistant, or clinical support roles.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

⭐ Desirable:

• Diploma in Nursing or healthcare-related field.
• Previous OPD (Outpatient Department) experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate.
• Experience in UAE or a JCI-accredited hospital is an added advantage.
