๐Ÿฅ Work Setting & Scope

  • Based in East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, BC
  • Part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary oncology team
  • Provides general outpatient medical oncology services
  • Focus on:
    • Patient treatment & post-treatment follow-up
    • Support for curative and palliative cases
    • Patient care integration with BC Cancer โ€“ Kelowna
    • Optional involvement in clinical trials

๐Ÿงช Training & Academic Support

  • Oncology experience NOT required
  • Onboarding support provided:
    • Virtual didactic sessions
    • In-clinic mentorship
  • Eligible for UBC appointment if desired

๐Ÿ“š Professional Reporting

  • Reports to the Head of Medical Oncology, BC Cancer โ€“ Kelowna
  • Coordination with local specialists and provincial tumour group networks

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
  • Canadian certification: CCFP, FRCP, or equivalent
  • Commitment to cultural safety, anti-racism, and TRC (2015) objectives

๐Ÿ’ธ Compensation & Rural Incentives

  • Flexible FTE (to be discussed with chosen candidate)
  • Rural Incentive Package (annual):
    • Rural Premium: 14% of income
    • Flat Fee: $21,696
    • Recruitment Incentive Fund: Up to $20,000 (varies by FTE)
  • Rural CME Fund:
    • $1,320 (Years 1โ€“2)
    • $3,520 (Years 3โ€“4)
    • $5,720 (Year 5+)
  • Loan forgiveness eligibility
  • Moving expense allowance provided
