Consultant Rheumatologist – University Hospital Sharjah (UAE)

🩺 Job Summary:

• High-level clinical position focused on delivering rheumatology care at international standards.
• Supports the development of clinical services in a Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited environment.
• Must hold or be eligible for MOH licensure in the UAE.

🔎 Key Responsibilities:

• Admit and assess hospitalized patients with proper documentation.
• Prescribe medications and order treatments.
• Conduct and follow up on appropriate clinical investigations.
• Participate in daily ward rounds and consultant/specialist reviews.
• Maintain patient records and develop care plans accordingly.
• Conduct outpatient consulting clinics and follow-ups.
• Perform clinical procedures within granted medical privileges.
• Handle ED referrals and specialty consultations.
• Maintain interdisciplinary professional conduct and teamwork.
• Participate in on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Attend clinical/admin meetings and serve on hospital committees.
• Support compliance with JCI and UAE regulatory standards.
• Promote continuous medical education and process improvement.
• Ensure accurate medical documentation and reporting.

✅ Degree Level:

• MBBS + Specialty Board Certification (American Board or Equivalent)

✅ Required Qualifications:

• American Specialty Board certification or internationally recognized equivalent (per MOH equivalency table).
• At least 5 years of post-specialty certification clinical experience in an accredited acute care setting.
• Valid UAE Ministry of Health (MOH) License (or eligibility).
• Desirable: BLS and ACLS Certification.
