Specialist – Emergency Medicine (University Hospital Sharjah, UAE)

🏥 Position Summary:

• Clinical role in the Emergency Department.
• Candidates must hold board certification or a recognized equivalent and have at least 3 years of post-board clinical experience.
• Physicians are expected to deliver care aligned with international standards and support continuous improvement and accreditation efforts.
• UAE medical licensing is required.

⚕️ Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Admit patients under consultant supervision with full medical documentation (Hx, physical exam, treatment plan).
• Order labs, imaging, and appropriate treatments.
• Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Participate in regular inpatient rounds and consultant meetings.
• Attend and manage emergency cases and specialty consultation requests.
• Prepare patients for surgical or interventional procedures, when applicable.
• Perform urgent invasive procedures following clinical privileges.
• Respond to calls from the Emergency Department and inpatient units.
• Maintain timely and complete medical records.
• Participate in on-call rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays (in-house when needed).
• Join hospital committees, clinical improvement programs, and department activities.
• Uphold ethical, professional, and clinical standards in all patient interactions.
• Adhere to quality and patient safety standards in compliance with Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements.
• Implement clinical guidelines and best practices relevant to emergency care.

📋 Position Requirements / Qualifications:

✅ Required:

• Board Certification (American Board or international equivalent as per UAE MOH guidelines).
• Minimum 3 years post-board experience in emergency care within an active, accredited acute care facility.
• Valid UAE Medical License (Ministry of Health or equivalent regulatory body).

🎯 Desirable:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification
