California Pacific Medical Center is seeking an expert Clinical Nurse Educator for our Operating Room. You will be responsible for promoting the competency and development of our perioperative nursing staff through comprehensive educational activities. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing programs for orientation, competency validation, in-service training, and continuing education to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, and implement educational programs for OR nursing staff based on identified learning needs and department goals.
• Design and deliver educational offerings (courses, simulations) using principles of adult education and learning styles.
• Conduct orientation for new staff, validate clinical competencies, and facilitate ongoing professional development.
• Maintain accurate educational and competency records in compliance with TJC, DHS, and other regulatory standards.
• Serve as an expert clinical resource and mentor for perioperative nursing staff.
• Collaborate with management and staff to ensure educational activities align with quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent, relevant clinical experience in an Operating Room setting.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of California.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).
• Broad knowledge of clinical nursing, adult learning theories, and evidence-based practices.
• Excellent public speaking, communication, and organizational skills.
