Sutter Coast Hospital is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our surgical team as a Circulator. In this critical role, you will be the patient's primary advocate in the Operating Room, responsible for coordinating all aspects of intraoperative care. You will manage the surgical suite, ensure patient safety, and facilitate communication between the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary circulator, managing the nursing care of patients within the operating room.
• Perform comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments and verifications.
• Ensure the surgical suite is properly prepared with all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field and advocate for the patient’s safety and well-being throughout the procedure.
• Manage all intraoperative documentation, including patient records, instrument counts, and specimen handling.
• Coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and scrub personnel.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, industry standards, and best practices for surgical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a circulator in an acute care operating room setting.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of California.
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
