Join the Nutrition Services team at Toronto General Hospital as a Nutrition Aide. In this vital role, you will be a key part of the team responsible for patient meal preparation. Your work on the cold food assembly line will directly contribute to patient care and satisfaction by ensuring meals are assembled accurately and safely. This position is ideal for a reliable and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meals accurately on the cold assembly beltline according to meal ticket requests.
• Retrieve, stock, and set up food items and supplies at designated workstations.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain the workstation and beltline area to meet hygiene standards.
• Transport food carts to and from receiving areas, elevators, and hospital units.
• Perform cross-functional duties and other tasks consistent with the job classification as required.

Qualifications

• At minimum, completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Food Handler’s Certificate (on-the-job certification is provided).
• Three to six months of practical and related experience is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak English, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client service-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 10 kg, pushing/loading carts, and working in a cold, refrigerated environment.
