General Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

📍 Key Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and surgical gynaecologic care at VGH and UBC Hospital
• Deliver obstetrical care and participate in the obstetric call schedule at BC Women’s Hospital
• Participate in educational programs at UBC, teaching medical students and post-grad residents
• Participate in departmental service obligations and scientific community contributions
• Opportunity to contribute to Mature Women’s Health, although not required
• Attend clinical teaching rounds and continuing medical education events

📍 Qualifications

• MD or equivalent with Royal College Certification (FRCSC) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical obstetrics and gynaecology, both surgically and non-surgically
• Strong ability and commitment to teaching and academic leadership
• Experience in mentoring and medical student/resident education preferred

📍 Work Setting

• BC Women’s Hospital: Specialized tertiary maternity centre with 7,000+ births/year
• Vancouver General Hospital: Major centre for ambulatory and emergency gynecology
• UBC Hospital: Primary site for elective surgical gynecology
• Clinical attachment to UBC Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology

📍 Compensation

• Payment Model: Fee-for-service under Medical Services Plan of BC
• Teaching Stipends available for UBC-affiliated education activities
