Family Physician

- Role and scope: - Provide comprehensive primary care, acute care management, prenatal/postnatal care, immunizations, and chronic disease management. - Consult and collaborate with other medical practitioners; act as a patient advocate and coordinate primary patient care. - Prescribe/administer treatments and medications; provide counseling to patients and families on health and lifestyle. - Report births, deaths, communicable diseases to authorities; supervise home care services. - Participate in committees/working groups and contribute to health policy and planning. - Work model and setting: - Hybrid: combination of in-person clinic care and remote/virtual care. - Settings include clinic, private practice, urban area, chronic/long-term care facilities, and mental health facilities. - Schedule and employment: - Full-time, permanent; flexible hours; 30–50 hours/week; start as soon as possible. - Compensation and benefits: - CAD 300,000–500,000 annually (to be negotiated) plus free parking and other benefits. - Credentials and compliance: - Required: CCFP, LMCC, and valid provincial licensure (Alberta or eligibility). - Security checks: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry, Vulnerable Sector check. - Personal attributes: - Client focus, reliability, strong judgment, excellent written/oral communication, teamwork, organization, flexibility, ethics. - Application: - Apply via Direct Apply or email with proof of certifications and relevant portfolio/examples. - Screening questions include willingness to relocate and confirmation of required certifications.
