Consultant – Intensive Care Medicine / Critical Care (Hospital-Based, Dubai)

📋 Full Job Description:

🔍 Position Overview:

• Full-time Consultant position in the Critical Care / ICU Department
• Involves comprehensive management of ICU patients across medical, trauma, surgical, and cardiac care

🩺 Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver critical care for adult patients with acute conditions such as:
  • Sepsis, respiratory failure, multi-organ dysfunction, cardiac arrest
• Carry out life-saving procedures:
  • Mechanical ventilation, central venous catheterization, arterial lines, intubation, bedside ultrasound
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and manage complex consultations
• Supervise ICU nursing and resident physician teams
• Guide and implement evidence-based ICU protocols
• Participate in ICU service development, quality projects, and hospital-wide emergency response
• Educate junior doctors and engage in regular SIM sessions, critical care research, and CME

🎓 Requirements:

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine or Critical Care
• Board Certification in Critical Care (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, FRCA/FFICM, FRCPC)
• Minimum 2 years of post-board certification experience
• Western-trained education (USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand)
• Eligible or licensed for practice with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
• Proficient in managing ICU technologies and protocols
• Fluent English skills with excellent patient-family communication
