Description

Accountable for assessing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nursing care in an acute orthopedic setting. Provides direct patient care, family education, and manages transitions of care with a focus on individualized, holistic treatment. Incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors into care planning. Builds constructive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers through effective communication and teamwork. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations to ensure optimal patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered orthopedic nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Coordinate care plans across healthcare teams, ensuring safe transitions of care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, and discharge plans.
• Document patient care according to hospital and regulatory standards.
• Actively contribute to a safe clinical environment while upholding JCIA standards.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
• Adapt care plans to accommodate changes in patient needs and priorities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN licensure in the state of California (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
• At least 1 year of experience in orthopedic specialty nursing (required).
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic nursing care techniques, medications, and treatments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and documentation skills in complex cases.
