Pediatric Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist

📍 Overview and Setting

• Position within the Radiology Department at BC Children’s Hospital, located in Vancouver.
• Hospital is a 220-bed tertiary and quaternary care facility serving all of British Columbia.
• The radiology team currently includes 16 Pediatric and Interventional Radiologists.
• The department is situated in the Teck Acute Care Centre (opened in 2017), with access to cutting-edge imaging equipment: 3T and 1.5T MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, Radiography, Angiography/IR systems.

📍 Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver both pediatric interventional and diagnostic radiology, with up to 50% clinical time in diagnostic imaging.
• Perform advanced interventional procedures such as:
  • Diagnostic angiography
  • Vascular and neuro-interventions
  • Hepatobiliary and renal transplant interventions
  • GI tract access/dilatation
  • Vascular malformations treatment
  • Oncologic interventions and long-term vascular access
  • Biopsies, pain management

📍 Teaching & Academic Role

• Participate in teaching UBC medical students, residents, and fellows, especially in Pediatric and Interventional Radiology.
• Academic rank at UBC will align with qualifications.
• Department supports dedicated academic time for clinical research and education initiatives.

📍 Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed (or eligible) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• Certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Completed fellowships in Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology.
• Faculty appointment eligibility at UBC.

• Pediatric hospital experience preferred
• Interventional and diagnostic radiology expertise required
• Experience in teaching or conducting clinical research is an asset
