Operating Room Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Surgery | Novato, CA

Sutter Outpatient Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Ambulatory Surgery Center's Operating Room. In this role, you will be accountable for the assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing care during the intra-operative phase. You will primarily function in the circulating role, assisting the physician and ensuring a safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Function as the primary circulating nurse, managing the nursing care of patients within the operating room.
• Perform comprehensive intra-operative assessments and develop an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Foster collaborative relationships with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the entire perioperative team.
• Ensure patient safety, maintain a sterile field, and advocate for the patient throughout the surgical procedure.
• Manage intraoperative documentation and ensure smooth transitions of care for the patient.
• Adhere to all policies, industry standards, and best practices to promote a quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of California.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant experience, preferably as a circulating nurse.
• Required Certifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of best practices in patient care, safety, and privacy regulations.
