Position Summary

The Specialist – Radiology at NMC Specialty Hospital serves as a diagnostic radiological consultant, interpreting a wide range of radiological examinations and performing specialized procedures within the scope of their training and privileges. The role includes collaboration with technologists, participation in quality improvement, and providing emergency coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a diagnostic radiological consultant to physicians.
• Interpret general radiological examinations, including fluoroscopy, angiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI, per training and privileges.
• Perform specialized radiological procedures as approved by the Chief of Radiology.
• Participate in physician conferences and rounds.
• Guide technologists on specialized views and patient positioning for complex cases.
• Contribute to the hospital’s Quality Improvement Program to meet international standards.
• Provide on-call emergency coverage for radiological needs.
• Assist in orienting new technologists and radiologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved medical school with a valid medical license.
• Certification by the American Board of Radiology, FRCR (Canada), English FRCR, or equivalent.
• Specialized training or 4 years of experience as a practicing radiologist.
• Current licensure in country of origin and a valid Department of Health (DOH) license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with a focus on patient confidentiality.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with co-workers, superiors, patients, and families.
