Audiologist – Otolaryngology (ENT) - Abu Dhabi

Job Summary

This is a physician position responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses for patients within the Integrated Surgical Institute – Otolaryngology (ENT) specialty at CCAD. This position treats patients directly and/or may make referrals to different members of the health care professional team at CCAD. This position is responsible for diagnosing and treating hearing and balance-related disorders for patients of all ages.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred by a physician for diagnoses and treatment of hearing problems, including balance function and disorders
• Treat most hearing impairments through modern hearing technology, including programmable and digital hearing aids and other hearing assistive technology systems
• Program cochlear implants and serve on multidisciplinary cochlear implant teams
• Recommend hearing protection in industrial, military, travel, music and other settings
• Provide consultation and treatment services to enable individuals to communicate effectively
• Monitor and provide care to patients at CCAD within the Otolaryngology (ENT) specialty
• Analyze records, reports and test results to diagnose patient's medical condition
• Provide hospital on-call inpatient coverage as deemed necessary

Experience Requirements

• Two (2) years' experience post qualification in the field of Audiology Sciences in a hospital, clinic or rehabilitation setting
• Demonstrated expertise in specialty practice area
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with patients, staff and other physicians
• Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)
• Ability to speak and write in English is required

Education Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Audiology
• Master Degree in Speech and Hearing, or Speech Language Pathology, Speech Sciences or Communications or Audiology Disorders/Sciences is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Typical physical demands include a moderate degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer and mobility sufficient to attend meetings in clinical departments throughout CCAD.
